Agrochemical development company Eden Research has announced that its encapsulation technology and terpene products will feature in two projects recently selected to take advantage of £13.5 million of government funding. The cash has been allocated to thirty two consortia in the government’s latest competition, New Approaches to Crop Protection. The projects will develop new technologies to help farmers and growers adapt to changes to EU pesticide regulations that threaten the withdrawal of a number of key crop protection products.
Eden Research currently has a mid-price of 13.5p, giving it a market capitalisation of £8.33 million. The latest news is undoubtedly encouraging but with the firm so far having made minimal revenues – £192,815 in 2009 – and posting significant losses, it still has a long way to go before it can be considered worthy of an investment. Avoid.
